Batis Aramin sits in Barangay Malupak on Tayabas Road, at the foot of Mount Banahaw. It opened at Easter 1997, when Filomeno D. Valde turned a natural-spring picnic site into a resort, and it has been in the same family since.
Pools, lawns and a lagoon
The grounds are the second reason people book. There are several outdoor pools, one with twin water slides and a covered dining terrace above it, and a lagoon crossed by a stone footbridge with nipa pavilions along the water. Batis Aramin is on Tayabas Road in Barangay Malupak, on the Lucban side of the road that runs down to Tayabas. The Kamay ni Hesus shrine is the near neighbour, six minutes away on foot. Lucban's own town centre, with the parish church and the Pahiyas streets, is a short drive rather than a walk, about eight minutes by car.
Lucban sits roughly 121 km from Manila and 22 km from Lucena, and the provincial government puts the drive from Manila at two to three hours by either the Manila East Road or the South Luzon Expressway. Without a car, the usual route is a southbound intercity bus to Lucena, then a van or jeepney towards Lucban, asking to be set down on Tayabas Road at the resort or the shrine.
