What's a Few Minutes' Walk from the Front Door
Blackpool South Beach is across the road, a hundred yards across the Promenade. Walk south for fifteen to seventeen minutes along the seafront and you reach Blackpool Pleasure Beach with the Big One, the UK's tallest roller coaster at 213 feet, and Icon, the £16.25 million Mack Rides multi-launch coaster that opened in May 2018. Blackpool Tower
Fifteen minutes north along the Promenade. The 518-foot Grade-I-listed tower opened on 14 May 1894 and remains the city's defining landmark. The Tower Eye observation deck (with its 5D film), the Tower Ballroom (still home to ballroom dancing every afternoon), the Tower Circus and the Tower Dungeon all live inside the same Victorian building.
